The Art of Hair set to open at the Carnegie | Arts & Culture

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - The Art of Hair, presented by Wella Professionals, is a new exhibition celebrating the high-profile world of hair at the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center opens this weekend and runs through Feb. 10. 

Patrons who attend the opening reception Sunday, January 15 from 3-6pm will enjoy "combing over" a unique collection of art inspired by, and made from, hair, as well as a runway show featuring models donning over-the-top artistic hair designs created by stylists from across the Tri-State. 

The Featured Artists are Adrienne Antonson, Hong Chun Zhang, Laura Hartford, Akinya Howard, Matt Wiseman and Jennifer Zimmerman.  Featured Salons are

A Salon Named Desire, Avalon Salon and Aesthetic Day Spa, Envy Salon, The Chambers Packer Studio, Identity Salon and Medical Spa, Mi Salon Spa, Paul Mitchell Academy, Salon Urbanity, Salon Professional Academy, Sableux Salon and Spa, Salon Beck, Tanya's Image and Wellness Salon and Taylor Jameson Hair Design. 

Advanced tickets are $15 general admission; $10 Carnegie Members. Tickets are $20 at the door. Admission to the Carnegie Galleries is free after opening night.  Tickets are available through The Carnegie Box Office, open Tuesday through Friday Noon - 5pm, online at www.thecarnegie.com, or by phone at (859) 957-1940.   The Carnegie is at 1028 Scott Boulevard in Covington.
