COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Eric Summe of the Northern Kentucky Convention & Visitors Bureau and Linda Antus of the Cincinnati USA Regional Tourism Network will keynote a monthly lunch event for the Covington Business Committee on Thursday, March 22.

The total economic impact of visitor spending during 2010 in Boone, Campbell and Kenton Counties was $280.2 million. Antus and Summe will discuss the missions of their organizations and the role of tourism impacting jobs and the economy and will outline what local business leaders can do to create a robust environment for visitors.  They'll also discuss how the Tourism Network and local convention bureaus have collaborated for greater impact.

Prior to being named the leader of the Convention Bureau, Summe was the local face of Delta Airlines for many years serving as Government Affairs Director for the airline directing public policy and advocacy covering Kentucky and eleven other states in the region.

Antus is an attractions and tourism business veteran brand marketer who has worked in the entertainment and experience business with such iconic companies as HBO, CINEMAX and Madison Square Garden in New York City. Antus also spent 10 years in Branson, Missouri, introducing the new lifestyle destination, Branson Landing. This $420 million mixed-use development with more than 100 shops, restaurants, a Hilton hotel, condos and convention center attracted more than four million visitors in less than nine months and was the catalyst for increased tourism and Branson city and county revenue.

The event is Thursday, March 22nd from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Madison Event Center, 700 Madison Avenue, Covington. Complimentary parking is available in the 7th Street garage. Registration is available by clicking here.

Cost to attend is $15 for members, $20 for non-members.  Payment is available online or at the door.  For more information, call 859-431-1500 x2, visit the CBC website or email them.
