COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - The Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office is pleased to announce the launch of a new and improved website. The redesigned site will educate Kenton County residents about the office’s activities and provide more resources to law enforcement agencies and victims of crime.
The website – www.kentonprosecutor.com – explains what the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office does; includes biographical profiles on Rob Sanders, his nine Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys, and the office’s Victim’s Advocate; provides downloadable legal documents for law enforcement agencies and crime victims; and shares news and blog posts about the office’s latest cases.
“I hope is this website will become a resource for all citizens in Kenton County,” said Sanders, who was sworn in Monday to his second term as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 16th Judicial Circuit.
“This website will allow residents and other interested parties to learn about our office and its role in the criminal justice system. We want those we serve to be better informed about the tremendous efforts we take to keep Kenton County safe by prosecuting felony criminal cases, in addition to how we help our partners in law enforcement as well as the victims of crimes.”
The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office investigates and prosecutes a wide range of felonies in Kenton County – from drug trafficking to sex crimes and death penalty cases. Sanders maintains a full caseload personally while managing an office of 16 full-time employees, including assistant prosecutors, detectives, and paralegals. The office also operates a student extern program that partners with several law schools to provide real-world training and experience to law school students.
Taxpayer funds were not used to pay for the website, according to Sanders. Instead, he said drug forfeiture fees recovered from convicted criminals were used to develop it. “I am pleased that we have found a way to use illegal drug money to help better educate the public about our work and our team of talented professionals,” he said.
The website includes a blog that allows visitors to stay up-to-date with the office’s cases, activities, and achievements. The website also has a “press room” that shares news media articles and reports about the office and its cases. Further, the new site also includes an archive of the office’s past weekly e-newsletters.
