New retail and office facility coming to Taylor Mill business district

TAYLOR MILL, KY (FOX19) - An announcement was make on Wednesday that a new 18,000 square foot retail and office facility is coming to the Taylor Mill business district.

The City of Taylor Mill and The Holland Restaurant Group are excited to begin construction on the development that will be known as The Districts of Taylor Mill.

The new complex already has two tenants locked into a deal. A new 6,000 square foot LaRosa's will open, making the Taylor Mill location the largest in the Tri State.

It will feature indoor and our seating, a party room, a game room and full service bar. The opening of this location is actually a relocation for the restaurant in Latonia. LaRosa's Latonia will close in February 2014 without an interruption in service to customers as it moves to Taylor Mill.

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - Organizers of the 4th Sunday MainStrasse Antiques, Etc. have renamed the outdoor shop The Village Vintage & Arts Bazaar. 

Described as a marketplace with purveyors of art, antique, vintage and re-purposed items such as furniture, home goods and decor, architectural elements, tools, jewelry, clothing, gadgets, collectibles and more, organizers want to attract more vendors and more shoppers.

This outdoor shop is still every 4th Sunday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., April – October, and the first date of 2013 will be Sunday, April 28.  The Bazaar is free to shoppers, and all are welcome to browse and buy from vendors lining the 6th Street promenade in MainStrasse Village in Covington, KY and encouraged to eat at one of the nearby locally-owned restaurants and check out the cool shops afterwards, like Julie’s Inspiration Consignment Shoppe, who will be open 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. for their 8th Annual Spring Vintage Trunk Show.

CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY (FOX19) - The Joesph-Beth Store in Crestview Hills wants to thank the community for their support by showing some major appreciation.

Among the activities planned for Saturday, March 16 there will be a balloon artist, face painting, a T-Ball booth, kids crafts, pets up fpr adoption, live music, free coffee for the adults, free cookies for the kids and much more.

Activities kick-off at 10:30am and continue until 6pm.

Joesph-Beth is located on Dixie Highway in Crestview Hills.

KENTON COUNTY, KY (FOX19) - Books, movies and music will be sold Sunday, March 10 through Saturday, March 16 as the Friends of the Kenton County Public Library conduct their week-long book sale at the Durr Branch library.

Proceeds from the sale will go towards programs and services that support the Library. The sale closes 30 minutes prior to the Library closing each day. The Durr Branch Library is located at 1992 Walton-Nicholson Road near Independence. The Library is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Friends of the Kenton County Public Library is a volunteer organization that raises funds for the Library through membership and book sale. For more information on becoming a Friend or volunteering call (859) 962-4060.

(FOX19) - Every Busken Bakery, Remke-Biggs, and Cincinnati/Dayton United Dairy Farmers will be giving away one free Lite Hearted Donu on Valentine's Day  to every customer while supplies last.

The Lite-Hearted Donu is a heart-shaped glazed donut targeted to calorie-counting consumers. Each donut contains just 140 calories, 2.5 grams of fat, and zero trans fat and zero saturated fat.

“This year we're giving our hearts to the Queen City,” commented Busken Bakery president, Dan Busken. “As it turns out, our hearts are sweet, low calorie, and romantically guilt-free.” 

This will be the largest giveaway in the company’s history, as the combined forces of over 150 stores hands out thousands of free donuts to customers around the city.

The Lite-Hearted Donut™ will be available at all 10 Busken Bakery locations, 135 United Dairy Farmers, and 13 Remke-Bigg’s.

7th Street Makers Market in Covington to feature local artists

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - The first annual 7th Street Makers Market will be held for two days at the Artisan’s Enterprise Center (AEC) in downtown Covington.  Sponsored by Make Covington Pop and Renaissance Covington, the two-day event will feature over 20 local artists, farmers, bakers, and makers selling a variety of handcrafted, homemade, and homegrown goods.

The event will run from 5-8p on Friday, December 14th and 12-5p on Saturday, December 15th.  Free parking will be available and the market will also feature a Food Truck Happy Hour outside the AEC on Friday evening and a complimentary gift wrapping station sponsored by the Awesome Collective of Covington both days.  The AEC is located at 27 W. 7th Street in Covington.

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - A Rabbit Hash based market is temporarily moving to Covington for the last event of the year.

Folksiders Market will have have over 30 artisans, crafters, and vendors selling their work, selling their goods, selling their wares all just in time for the gift giving holiday season on Sunday, December 9 from 11am - 4pm

The market will be set up at the Pike Place Bingo Hall in the heart of the Covington.

There is plenty of street parking surrounding the entire area of Pike Street that is free and in walking distance of the Folksiders Holiday Market as well as other fine Covington shops and businesses.
